National Emergency Operations Centre says that over forty three point three million children of upto five years of age have been vaccinated against polio in the first five days of anti-polio campaign across the country.

According to the statistics, over twenty two point nine million children have received the oral polio vaccine in Punjab while approximately ten point two million children have been immunized in Sindh.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than six point one million children have been vaccinated while in Balochistan, over two point five million, in Islamabad, around four hundred and forty three thousand, in Gilgit-Baltistan, nearly two hundred and ninety four thousand and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, over seven hundred and thirty three thousand children have received the vaccine.

The ongoing national campaign aims to vaccinate over forty-five million children and will continue uninterrupted until tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign is scheduled to begin on Monday.

The NEOC urged parents to ensure that every child under five years of age receives the polio vaccine.
