
Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the relevant authorities to ensure that new highways are equipped with modern lighting, quality infrastructure, and well-developed rest areas.
He was chairing a meeting on the development projects of the National Highway Authority's Central Region in Islamabad today [Friday].
He said the Islamabad-Murree Expressway should be adopted as a model for infrastructure development.
During the meeting, the Minister instructed the authorities to ensure completion of the six-lane work on M-4 by the end of this year.
He said construction work on the Lodhran-Multan Expressway is also progressing rapidly. He added that the work on the rehabilitation project of Baba Farid Bridge over the Sutlej River would also commence soon.
