The Modi-led Indian government has formally deployed its notorious Commando Battalion for Resolute Action commonly known as CoBRA force in forests and rural areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, several companies of the CoBRA paramilitary, notorious for massacring nexalites in India have been deployed in the upper areas of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Because of their ugly track record, it is feared that these CoBRA commandos would massively engage in killing, harassing and detaining villagers, particularly the members of Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities who rely on forests to feed their cattle.
On the other hand, in a statement in Srinagar, spokesman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference said Indian authorities shelter under the repeatedly handed down court’s order to prolong the detention of Hurriyat leaders, activists and ordinary people.
The spokesman cited the detention of APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Aasiya Andrabi and said that they were languishing in jail because of this lawless law.
Meanwhile, a repot released by Kashmir Media Service has said that India in violation of all international laws and conventions was using chemical weapons along with its latest hi-tech gadgets including Israeli Heron drones during violent cordon and search operations in the UN-designated disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The report cited the latest Indian media reports about the discovery of a charred body from the Kokernag area of Islamabad district to have proved its claim. This area has been heavily bombarded by the Indian army over the past few days.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir Convener Ghuam Muhammad Safi addressing a gathering of youth in Islamabad said people of Jammu and Kashmir are engaged in a struggle for the exercise of the UN-pledged right of self-determination.
