July 18, 2026

Senior Minister of Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb has said Nawaz Sharif shares a historic and unbreakable bond with the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where he left a lasting legacy of development.

Addressing a rally in Gujar Khan today in connection with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, Marriyum Aurangzeb said development projects initiated during Nawaz Sharif's tenure continue to stand as evidence of the PML-N's commitment to the region.

She said these include roads, schools, hospitals, infrastructure and constitutional reforms such as the 13th Amendment.

She said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has continued to raise the Kashmir issue at every international forum and to reaffirm Pakistan's unwavering support for the Kashmiri people.

Referring to the recent conflict with India, she said Pakistan's armed forces, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, gave a strong response to Indian aggression during Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said the people of Kashmir salute the armed forces for their role in the operation.

She said the PML-N believes in the development and prosperity of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and is committed to ensuring that the region's resources benefit its people rather than being exploited.

She said Kashmir's development will continue alongside Pakistan's progress.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi said the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections are a vote for Pakistan's ideology and for Kashmir's accession to Pakistan.

He said the entire nation will stand against those who believe they can take away Pakistan's jugular vein.
