Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah has again invited opposition to sit at the dialogue table to discuss political and other issues.

Responding to a motion in Senate, he said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on the floor of the National Assembly, has repeatedly invited the opposition for talks on the economy and political stability.

Regarding cases pertaining to incidents of May 9, the Adviser said attacks on state institutions are being dealt under the constitutional and legal framework. He said only the courts can grant any kind of relief in criminal cases, as Parliament has no authority to overturn court verdicts.

Rana Sanaullah said the PTI founder and his spouse are being provided with the best medical and other facilities as per the jail manual.

Meanwhile, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar told the House that concerns regarding the prison conditions of the PTI founder have already been examined by judicial and legal forums, including reports submitted before courts and international parliamentary bodies.

The House will now meet at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday.
