
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that under the Model Village Programme, 2,000 villages across the province are being equipped with modern facilities.
Addressing the World Urban Forum in Baku today, she said highways and infrastructure projects are being developed to improve connectivity in Punjab while keeping climate change challenges in mind.
She said the government is also focusing on promotion of tourism.
The Chief Minister said Lahore has been declared an important cultural city by the SCO, and a comprehensive sanitation system has been introduced under the “Suthra Punjab Project”.
Maryam Nawaz said that CCTV monitoring is also being carried out across the province to maintain law and order.
