The Swat Grand Jirga has vowed to keep the state writ maintained at every cost for peace in the region.

The grand Jirga comprising elders from Swat, Buner, Shangla, Upper and Lower Dir, Malakand and Bajaur districts was organized by the civil administration of Malakand Division in Saidu Sharif.

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Bangash, the IG FC-North and IG Police met with the Jirga elders, parliamentarians, local government representatives and government officials.

The Jirga was informed that security and peace will be ensured at all cost and no group or individual will be allowed to disturb peace and socio-economic activities in the area.

The grand Jirga reiterated their resolve to stand with LEAs and defeat the designs of pressure groups to destabilize peace in the Swat and Malakand division, the province and the country as a whole.
