Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced to expand the electric bus network across the province, with a target of 3,000 eco-friendly buses by June 2027.

Addressing the inauguration of the electric bus service in Multan today, she said 1,500 new buses will be deployed in 91 tehsils from January 2027, while another 1,100 buses have been ordered for smaller districts and regional headquarters.

She said the flat fare for the service is twenty rupees, while travel will be free for students, women, senior citizens and persons with special needs.

Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government is also focusing on development of South Punjab, healthcare, agriculture, housing and public transport.

She said one hundred thousand electric bikes will be provided to students across the province.

The Chief Minister said strict action is being taken against corruption and bribery, with around 600 officials, including police personnel, removed from service over such charges.
