
Punjab government has officially launched its first e-taxi scheme.
In the first phase, a total of eleven hundred electric vehicles will be given to the applicants. Out of them, one thousand will be given to corporate sector and 100 to individual applicants. Thirty e-taxi have been reserved for woman.
Applications can be submitted online at email address, e-taxi.punjab.gov.pk. The vehicles will be given through easy five-year interest-free installments, with the government bearing the entire interest cost.
Transport Minister Punjab Bilal Akbar Khan said the scheme will create employment opportunities, promote environment-friendly transport, and encourage the use of electric vehicles.
