In Burkina Faso, unidentified assailants have killed forty people and wounded thirty three others near a village in the Ouahigouya governorate.

In a statement, the government said those killed include six soldiers and 34 civilian volunteers.

Meanwhile, a security official said several dozen terrorists have been neutralized during a “riposte” launched after the attack.
