The mastermind of the suicide attack on the Kohat Police Lines has been killed in a joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department and security forces in FR Lakki Marwat.

According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kharji terrorist Zahid Gul, who was affiliated with the Gul Bahadur group, had personally guided the explosives-laden vehicle used in the attack.

He was also wanted in several other serious terrorist incidents, including the Billi Tang bank robbery in which six million rupees were looted.

The CTD said the looted money was distributed among terrorist groups operating in the Baka Khel and Jani Khel areas of Bannu.

The CTD added that Zahid Gul was involved in transporting several suicide bombers to Kohat.
