Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched green electric bus service in five more districts including Chiniot, Sialkot, Okara, Murree and Layyah.   

Addressing the launching ceremony in Lahore today, she said around 1,100 electric buses will be operated in different cities of Punjab by15th of next month.

She said 1,500 buses will arrive this year, increasing the fleet to 3,000 within the next three years.

Maryam Nawaz said the government aims to expand the project to 5,000 electric buses within five years.
