May 16, 2026

Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to expand cooperation between the interior ministries with a focus on joint police training, counter-terrorism, and modern security systems.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a visiting Egyptian delegation, led by Major General Magdy Helena, in Islamabad.

During the discussions, both the sides explored avenues to enhance cooperation in security, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, cybercrime, and Safe City technologies.

A key point of agreement was expanding collaboration between Pakistan’s National Police Academy and Egypt’s Police Academy, paving the way for structured joint training programmes for officers of both nations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said the visit of the Egyptian delegation marked an important step towards identifying new areas of mutual cooperation.
