The Central Development Working Party has approved ten development projects, including five projects with a cumulative cost of 15.9 billion rupees.
The CDWP, which met in Islamabad on Friday with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair, recommended five other projects, amounting to approximately 127.1 billion rupees to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final consideration and approval.
The projects approved at the CDWP level, include construction of academic blocks of National University of Pakistan, Islamabad worth over 1.5 billion rupees, formulation of national urban strategy and guidelines to reduce the impact of urban flooding, droughts, climate disasters and national guidelines for spatial planning considering climate change and disaster risk in Pakistan at a cost of 106.401 million rupees.
The other projects, which got nod of the CDWP, including IT Industrial Innovation, Research Center and Strengthening of Islamia College University, Peshawar costing over 2.4 billion rupees, Revamping IT Industry Landscape" worth over 7.4 billion rupees, establishment of Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq Shaheed Medical College Muzaffarabad and Kashmir Medical College Muzaffarabad worth over 4.3 billion rupees.
