April 16, 2024

Dr. Abid Qayyum Sulehri (Economist):It is very significant that a high level Saudi foreign delegation including the Saudi Foreign Minister along with agriculture and other ministers of important sectors are here in Pakistan. The delegation held meetings with respective counterparts and SIFC. The impact of this delegation will be fruitful in the upcoming visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Sulman to Pakistan expected in May. The long-standing investment from Saudi Arabia in different sectors is expected at that time. Saudi Arabia also supports the economy of Pakistan by rolling over 3-5 billion dollars that result in improving foreign exchange reserves. The recent visit of the Saudi delegation that will be followed by the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince is successful economic diplomacy of the incumbent government.

Zamir Asadi (Economist): Pak-Saudi relations always remained important and the recent high-level visit of the Saudi officials is considered very significant. The credit of the improvement in economic indicators in the country goes to the economic policies of the incumbent government. The recent visit of the high-level Saudi delegation will not only open new doors of investment in Pakistan but will also inject new momentum in the business activities. It is a sort of vote of confidence from the Saudi government to the new government in Pakistan. Special Investment Facilitation Council will pave ways for the local investors to directly interact with the Saudi investors and other foreign investors as well.

Dr. Noor Fatima (Economist): The recent visit of the Saudi delegation would be fruitful in the economic revival of the country. The constitution of SIFC was a long-due process that has been concluded successfully. Pakistan is providing an opportunity to the foreign investors to invest in our country through the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The transaction cost always matters for the investors and this forum is providing a one-window solution to the foreign investment. At this point of time, Pakistan is in dire need of the foreign investment and we must expect huge foreign investment in Pakistan in near future. The better foreign exchange reserves improve the credibility of a country in front of the international financial organizations. In addition to CPEC, China has expressed willingness to invest in different projects in our country.
