
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has said that the general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir will not be postponed and will be held on the 27th of this month in a free, fair, and transparent manner.
He was addressing a joint press conference with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, in Islamabad today.
The Minister said daily life in nine out of ten districts of Azad Kashmir is continuing normally without any restrictions, and political activities are in full swing there.
He further said that PML-N is all set to organize public gatherings in Azad Kashmir from Sunday.
Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said the banned Awami Action Committee has been attempting to disrupt peace, stability, the writ of the state, and normal life in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon said Kashmir is an integral part of Pakistan historically, geographically, and religiously.
He appealed to the people of Kashmir not to be misled or influenced by anyone's provocations, saying Pakistan has always given priority to their interests and stood by them.
The Chairman described Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as the most highly militarized region in the world and said the people of IIOJK are subjected to gross human rights violations by Indian occupation forces.
Muhammad Qasim Noon said India is engaging in demographic engineering in IIOJK and has put Hurriyat leaders behind bars.
