PM Kakar stresses UN resolutions for Kashmir's future
December 15, 2023

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar says the final decision on the future of Jammu and Kashmir should be in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He was talking to a delegation of Hurriyat leaders who called on him in Muzaffarabad on Thursday.

Hurriyat leaders thanked the Prime Minister for expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemning the Supreme Court of India's upholding of India's illegal unilateral move regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.

They said today's address of the Prime Minister fully expressed the sentiments of Kashmiris.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan will always continue to support Kashmiris at the political and diplomatic level.

He said Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistani Missions abroad will increase ties with international think tanks, media and academia to better highlight the issue of Kashmir at the international level.

He said strategies will be made regarding the case of Kashmir in Washington DC, London, Brussels and other important capitals.

The Prime Minister said we categorically reject the decision by the Supreme Court of India regarding the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said India cannot shirk its international obligations under the guise of its so-called legislation and judicial decisions.
