Pakistan has called for an effective and durable cessation of hostilities in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The remarks were made by Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Usman Jadoon while speaking at a UN Security Council briefing on the Great Lakes region.

The Ambassador urged all parties to translate diplomatic commitments into concrete and verifiable progress towards peace and stability in the Great Lakes region.
