UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has termed religious intolerance, totally unacceptable while referring to recent attacks on Muslims and Christians in India.
He was responding to a question about religious extremism in India during his press conference at UN headquarters, New York.
The Secretary General said during his recent visit to India for G-7 summit, he had no bilateral meeting with Indian leadership to raise the issue of religious hatred but he reiterated the world body's position that religious intolerance is a violation of human rights and is totally unacceptable.
