Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his congratulations to Pakistan on Independence Day.

In his felicitation message to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he expressed his wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of Pakistan. 

Referring to bilateral relations, the Russian President said the two countries continue productive cooperation in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian, and other fields.

He said Russia and Pakistan are also continuing mutual cooperation on important regional and global issues.

President Putin expressed confidence that the two countries would further strengthen their bilateral partnership across all areas in the mutual interests of their peoples.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today sent a cable of congratulations to President Asif Ali Zardari on Independence Day.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister sent a similar congratulatory cable to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
