Former convicted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his convicted daughter Maryam Nawaz were taken to Adiala Jail from Islamabad International Airport last night where their medical check-up was conducted. 

Islamabad Chief Commissioner issued a notification declaring Sihala Rest House sub-jail for an indefinite period and ordering to place Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz there until further orders. 

Earlier, Islamabad Accountability Court issued orders for shifting Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz to jail. 

Judge Muhammad Bashir gave orders saying arrest warrants should be implemented through the concerned magistrate. 

NAB Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar had requested the court for exempting Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz from appearance before the court due to security reasons and sending them to jail. 

On arrival at Lahore airport from London via Abu Dhabi last evening, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were taken into custody by NAB officials. Their passports were seized by Federal Investigation Agency. 

The convicts were flown to Islamabad International Airport through a special plane.
