Japan is planning to join the European Union in its push to set up dispute resolution talks with the United States over steel and aluminum tariffs under the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework.
The Japanese government source has informed the WTO about its intention to take part in the matter.
It further stated that we are in the same situation as the other countries, so we want to participate in the talks and share information and our ultimate goal is to get the US to repeal these tariffs. (Reuters)
