Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the government is providing equal opportunities to women to advance in practical life.

Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad today, he said women are demonstrating much better ability than men. He further said that women are also playing key role along with men in all fields of life. 

The Minister said empowering women in different sectors of life is fundamental objective of the incumbent government.

He said modern research in the world shows that when a man is economically empowered, its impact on his family is half, whereas when a woman is economically empowered, she spends a larger portion of her income on her children's education, care, and nutrition as compared to a man.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government has introduced business loans on easy installments to empower women economically. He said imparting quality education to women has been made an integral part of "Uraan Pakistan Programme".
