At the United Nations, Pakistan has reiterated the call for a permanent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
The call was made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed during a UN Security Council briefing in New York on the Humanitarian Situation in Gaza.
The ambassador emphasized that the UN Security Council must resolve the Palestine issue based on the two-state solution, along the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State.
He said the UNSC must uphold its resolutions, end the occupation of Palestinian territories, and act with urgency to bring long-awaited justice to the people of Palestine
The ambassador said Gaza Reconstruction Plan must be fully and actively supported, and no forced displacement of Gazans be tolerated.
He also called for lifting of blockade in Gaza and allow unhindered access to aid convoys and medical teams.
