Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has directed the provincial governments to ensure that all educational institutes within their respective districts promote the core message of Paigham-e-Pakistan to build unity, harmony, and social order.

He was chairing 4th meeting of Prime Minister's Steering Committee on Socio-Political Domain in Islamabad today.                  

The minister directed PEMRA to help spread the message of Paigham-e-Pakistan during prime time at all national media through public awareness messages for highest reach.              

He also asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to urge the top entertainment production houses to replace typical scripts and stories with inspirational stories.            

The minister also directed NACTA to compile a list of policy actions to be undertaken by federal and provincial governments to combat extremism and promote inter faith harmony.                

The minister directed the relevant authorities to devise an exchange program for students of Balochistan and newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to enable them spend a semester in top universities of other provinces.

Chairman HEC briefed the meeting that 22,8500 scholarships have been awarded to students of Balochistan so far to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD programs.
