Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced to begin wheat procurement at a rate of three thousand five hundred rupees per maund besides provision of free bardana worth six billion rupees. 

She was chairing a special meeting in Lahore today.

Chief Minister said that registered wheat farmers will get ten bags of bardana per acre from the wheat procurement center.

The meeting decided in principle to procure wheat from Kissan Card holder wheat growers on priority basis. The payment has been made mandatory within seventy-two hours of procurement. The meeting decided to form Strategic Management Committees at provincial and divisional level to monitor the wheat procurement related issues.

Maryam Nawaz also announced the launch of the Work With Punjab Government Program under which Agriculture graduates will be provided internship opportunities.
