Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan's strong condemnation of the recent attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia's civilian and economic infrastructure.

He held a telephonic conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud this afternoon.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the Prime Minister expressed complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership as well as the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.

He said the recent Houthi actions threatened regional peace and security and could further disrupt the global economy and energy supplies.

Expressing Pakistan's resolve, Shehbaz Sharif said that he, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, would continue their efforts to defuse tensions and bring peace to the region.

He also lauded the Saudi Crown Prince for his wise and sagacious leadership throughout the crisis.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm wishes and respectful regards for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan for its steadfast support for Saudi Arabia as well as its efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and looked forward to meeting each other at an early date.
