UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for dialogue to reach a comprehensive and durable settlement of the conflict in the Gulf region.

In a statement, his deputy spokesman said the Secretary-General is closely following developments in the Middle East.

The deputy spokesman said the Secretary-General remains convinced that an amicable resolution of the conflict will help restore stability across the region.
