The anniversary of Radio Pakistan will be observed tomorrow [Friday] as the national broadcaster came into being simultaneously with the creation of Pakistan.

Radio Pakistan was known as the Pakistan Broadcasting Service at the time of the creation of Pakistan. It came into being on the midnight falling between August 13 and August 14, 1947, along with the creation of Pakistan.

The first linking announcement in English about the creation of Pakistan was made by Zahur Azar a few seconds before midnight.

The first Urdu announcement about the creation of Pakistan was made by Mustafa Ali Hamdani at midnight between August 13 and 14, 1947. 

Since its establishment, Radio Pakistan has been informing, educating and entertaining millions of people through its comprehensive network across the country as well as on social media platforms.
