Dr. Munwar Hussain (IR Expert): Two day 9th OIC conference on Women was very significant and important for Pakistan and Muslim world. Actually, women have been ignored over the centuries despite playing pivotal role in global economic growth. However, women in Pakistan are contributing greatly to national political and economic development shoulder to shoulder to their menfolk. We had first women prime minister of the Muslim world, speaker national assembly and chief minister biggest province of the country. Such conferences are beneficial about gauging women development in member states as well as benefiting from each other’s expertise in relevant sectors. Women have been main sufferers of fundamental rights in Afghanistan and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. We expected improvement of women rights’ situation in Afghanistan in result of Doha Accord but our expectations vanished because UN and other institutions’ report have highlighted grave women rights’ violations by Taliban regime in Afghanistan
