NA passes resolution, condemning unjustified, illegitimate aggression by Israel against Iran

National Assembly on Friday passed a unanimous resolution, strongly condemning the unjustified and illegitimate aggression by Israel against Iran, causing grave loss of lives and property to the Iranian People.

The resolution, moved by Syed Naveed Qamar, noted that Israeli strikes are not only a serious violation of the sovereignty and integrity of a United Nations Member state but it also clearly contravenes the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The House warned that such continued blatant acts of aggression by Israel have brought not only the Middle East but the entire world into serious dangers, the consequence of which shall entirely rest on Israel. It said Iran has a right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The House called upon the government to immediately call for a meeting of the UN Security Council and the OIC to discuss, condemn and bring an immediate halt to the aggression on Iran.

 

The National Assembly started the general discussion on the Federal Budget for next financial year.

Initiating the discussion, Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan stressed that the Information Technology (IT) sector should be exempted from taxation to boost its export potential and support economic growth.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said the government is focusing on creating an environment that is conducive for investment in the country.

He said we have undertaken reforms in different sectors to take the country on the path of sustainable development.  He said the budget envisages measures for the development of Balochistan. He said positive suggestions from the members including the opposition will be incorporated in the budget.
