Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah says Dasu Hydro Power Project is vital for stabilizing Pakistan’s economy as it will provide low-cost hydel electricity.

During his visit to Dasu Hydropower Project, he said electricity generation form Dasu Hydropower Project will commence in 2026.

The Minister said it will tremendously contribute to meet the increasing demand of electricity in the country by injecting sizeable cheap and green electricity to the national grid.

He expressed satisfaction over pace of progress on the project and directed WAPDA to ensure its completion within stipulated time.

The Minister also directed WAPDA to give priority to the locals in jobs of the project. He said a meeting will soon be convened in Islamabad with all stakeholders to address grievances of locals.
