The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has decided to send a delegation to Afghanistan for talks with the Taliban-led government on women’s rights to education and employment.  

The decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of Organization in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, initiated by Türkiye.

The meeting voiced concern over the recent ban imposed by the Taliban government on education and employment of women.

OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha told the meeting that the delegation would focus on Taliban government's measures against the basic rights of education, employment and social justice of Afghan girls and women as these rights constitute a top priority for the Islamic world.
