The United States has stressed for de-escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine.           

In a statement White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki denounced the violence saying Jerusalem must be a place of coexistence and the United States will continue to support a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which is the only way to ensure lasting peace in the region.

Meanwhile, at his daily press briefing in Washington, State Department spokesman Ned Price said the Palestinian people also have the right to safety and security, just as Israelis do.
