Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Islamabad Space Observatory will help in moon sighting on Ramazan and Eid to develop a country-wide consensus for observance of religious events.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Islamabad Space Observatory, the minister vowed to assist moon sighting committee in sighting the crescent of Ramazan and Eid.

Terming it a historic occasion, he announced to build such observatories in Gwadar, Karachi and Peshawar.

Mentioning the magnificent achievement of Muslim astronomers, he noted that Pakistan is being established as a modern Islamic country.
