Kashmiris unanimously reject Indian top court’s verdict
December 11, 2023

Kashmiris from across political spectrum have unanimously rejected the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict validating the Modi government’s illegal act of revoking the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Indian government and its judiciary have no right to decide the legal status of the internationally-recognized disputed Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman said that Kashmiris are not fighting for Articles 370 or 35A, instead they are fighting for complete freedom of their motherland from India’s illegal occupation.

He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the struggle for right to self-determination as guaranteed by the UN Security Council resolutions.

Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti in a message on twitter made it clear that people of Jammu and Kashmir would not surrender their struggle for restoration of their honour and dignity.  National Conference vice President Omar Abdullah said that he was disappointed by the verdict and added that the struggle for their basic rights would continue.

Earlier, curfew-like restrictions were imposed by the occupation regime across the occupied territory to prevent protest against the anticipated verdict of the Indian Supreme Court.

On the other hand, All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter staged a protest outside the office of the United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan in Islamabad, today, against ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
