Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi chaired a meeting of Special Security in Peshawar today to review in detail the overall security situation and terrorism threats in the province.

During the meeting, it was affirmed that the police force, Counter-Terrorism Department, and law enforcement agencies will be further strengthened.

It was decided that matters related to the operational capacity of law enforcement agencies will be addressed on a priority basis.

The meeting paid tribute to the martyrs who made supreme sacrifices for the homeland and to their families.

The meeting was briefed that, following the imposition of emergency today, the overall situation across the province remained peaceful and normal.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said he and the newly constituted Advisory Council remain available at all times to provide all-out support and assistance to law enforcement agencies and security forces.

The Governor also convened the first session of the Provincial Apex Committee on Counter-Terrorism tomorrow to review the overall security situation and terrorism threats in the province.

The Governor reiterated the resolve that the war against terrorism will be fought with full force and determination, and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the security forces in this fight.

It was also reaffirmed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa completely reject the Khawarij terrorist elements and their facilitators.
