The leaders of the G-7 group of the world’s most developed economies will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss Russia’s war in Ukraine, following Russian missile strikes on civilian targets in cities across the country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also expected to speak at the meeting, which will be held over secure video.

Top officials in the United States, European Union and at the United Nations have expressed shock and horror over the strikes in which 14 people were killed and 97 injured.

The EU termed the strikes as war crime.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden pledged to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself, including advanced air defence systems.
