Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of increasing power load shedding in different parts of the country and directed that load shedding in any area should not exceed two hours.

He issued these directives while chairing an important meeting on power load management in Islamabad today.

The meeting was informed that power generation has declined due to the regional situation, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions in RLNG supplies caused by transmission difficulties, necessitating load management to maintain a balance between electricity demand and supply.

The Prime Minister directed authorities to take immediate measures to address disruptions in RLNG supplies and ensure effective utilization of all available resources to keep load shedding within two hours in any area.

Shehbaz Sharif also ordered the establishment of Consumer Grievance Redressal Committees at the DISCOs’ level to address public complaints regarding electricity supply and other related issues.

He instructed that the committees should include public representatives and become operational within one week.

The meeting was informed that electricity consumers can lodge complaints through helpline 118 and are provided a token number and an estimated resolution time.

It was said that, except for six consumers in Rajanpur district, electricity supply to consumers across the country has not been affected by monsoon rains.
