
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan is emerging as an attractive destination for investment, innovation, and regional business, supported by its rapidly expanding IT and digital economy.
He was talking with President and CEO of the Dallas Regional Chamber, Brad Cheves, during a meeting in the US city of Dallas, Texas.
Ahsan Iqbal said the government is investing in modern digital infrastructure and skilled human resources, while several international companies are already operating successful research, development, and back-office facilities in Pakistan.
The Minister said Pakistan and Texas share significant similarities in climate, natural resources, and business potential, adding that Pakistani-American community can play a vital role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance Pakistan-US cooperation in trade, investment, technology, education, and clean energy.
They also agreed to strengthen institutional linkages between Pakistani and American chambers of commerce and promote academic and research partnerships between Pakistani and leading US universities, including the establishment of campuses of American universities in Pakistan.
It was agreed that a delegation of leading Texas-based companies, led by the Dallas Regional Chamber, will soon visit Pakistan to explore investment opportunities and hold meetings with leading universities, IT companies, logistics firms, and chambers of commerce.
