US Air Force targets Indian oil tanker in Oman
June 11, 2026

The US Air Force has targeted an Indian oil tanker in Gulf of Oman for failing to comply with the inductions from the US forces.

Global news agency Reuters said according to the US military, the US forces disabled an Indian oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman with an air strike because the ship attempted to transport oil from Iran in violation of the US blockade.

The US military said their aircraft targeted the ship's engine room because the crew failed to follow repeated instructions from US forces.

On the other hand, India summoned the US Embassy's Deputy Chief of the Mission in New Delhi and formally registered its strong protest against the US attack on Indian vessel.

Three Indians crew members are missing as the Indian oil tanker caught fire after being attacked in the Gulf of Oman. Twenty-four out of twenty-eight crew members were the Indian nationals.
