Pakistan won the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in Malé, Maldives, defeating Afghanistan by 2-0 in the final last night.

The victory marked Pakistan's first triumph in a senior men's international final since 1991 and its first standalone international football title since 1952 where they shared the titled with India.

Shayak Dost and Harun Hamid scored a goal each to guide Pakistan to a memorable victory.

Pakistan remained unbeaten throughout the four-nation tournament, which also featured hosts Maldives and Bangladesh.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has felicitated the Pakistani team for winning the final of the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament against Afghanistan in Maldives.

In a post on the social media platform X, he congratulated the Pakistan football team and said that their performance has made the nation proud.
