Punjab Cabinet has approved establishment of Punjab General Insurance Company to provide insurance services across the province.

The approval was granted at a meeting of provincial cabinet held in Lahore today, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the chair.

The cabinet also approved launch of "Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar" scheme for the people of Cholistan and Katcha areas to enable them to start farming and livelihood activities on easy terms.

The Chief Minister directed that the program should be monitored through a strict digital system to ensure complete transparency and merit.
