Saudi Arabia has invited Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to attend 37th Arab summit scheduled to be held Jeddah on 19th of this month.

This is the first such invitation since Syria war began.

In a statement, President Bashar al-Assad expressed hope the summit will enhance joint Arab action to achieve the aspirations of Arab peoples.
