Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas (Analyst): Kuwait and Pakistan have very strong and cordial bilateral relations. These ties started way back in 1970s when a large number of Pakistanis went to Kuwait for jobs. Pakistan stood with Kuwait when it was invaded by Iraq. Pakistani technicians helped removed landmine and munitions on Iraq-Kuwait border. Pakistan has also strong bilateral military cooperation with Kuwait and a large number of Pakistanis are still residing and working in Kuwait. Through SIFC platform, contacts were also made with Kuwait to enhance bilateral trade. Kuwait has shown interest in investing in hydel power, mining and other sectors in Pakistan.
