In Nigeria, at least 17 children dead and many others missing after a boat capsized in northwestern state of Sokoto.

Head of the Shagari local government area of Sokoto, Aliyu Dantani has said, the incident happened when the boat carrying dozens of teenagers to fetch firewood at a nearby bush in the area.
