PM expresses resolve to strength Constitution making country independent

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his government's resolve to increase the strength and glory of the Constitution by making country independent and making the lives of the people easier.

In his special message on the completion of 50 years of the Constitution of Pakistan, he congratulated the nation and paid homage to all leaders, parties, parliamentarians who gave the gift of constitution.

He said we pay tribute to all those revered personalities who augmented the dignity and sanctity of the Constitution in fifty years and contributed to its strengthening.

Shehbaz Sharif said the1973 Constitution of Pakistan is essence of the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and founders of Pakistan. From 10 April 1973 to 10 April 2023, the Constitution of Pakistan held the nation together.

The Prime Minister said the Constitution is agreed civil agreement of all nations living in Pakistan and also is mother of all state institutions.

Shehbaz Sharif said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was architect of the Constitution, who sacrificed his life for it. He also paid special tribute to Sheheed Benazir Bhutto and PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who played a historic role for uplifting, protecting and promoting the Constitution.

He said it is a beautiful coincidence of history that at the time when we are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution, the constitution, democracy and people-friendly parties are in power in the country.

The Prime Minister said similarly, the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution has also come at a time when for the first time in history, all the parties in unison threw out the vote-stealing selected imposed group through the power of the Constitution. He said the Constitution is the protector and guide of Pakistan and we will defend it even sacrificing our life.

Meanwhile, in a tweet message the Prime Minister paid rich tribute to the framers of the 1973 Constitution for their political foresight.

He said the nation today commemorates the Golden Jubilee of the 1973 Constitution, a sacred document that has weathered many storms over the past 50 years and held the federation together.

The Prime Minister said the Constitution of Pakistan continues to be central to shaping our national character, identity and future trajectory. He said time has come to place Parliament at the core of national life both in letter and spirit.

The Prime Minister said that rules of the game framed in light of the Constitution show us the way forward.
