Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said media owners have assured that all pending payments of journalists and workers will be cleared before Eid-ul-Fitr.

He was talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) called on Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar in Islamabad today.

They discussed issues related to salaries and dues of journalists and media workers.

The Minister updated the delegation that talks have already been held with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association regarding the payment of salaries to media workers. He said approval has also been granted for the outstanding dues of television channels. He expressed hope that the matter would reach its logical conclusion within the next few days.

Attaullah Tarar said the government will also fulfill its commitments in this regard to ensure that journalists receive their payments on time. He assured the delegation that all issues will be resolved amicably.

Appreciating the Information Minister's initiatives, the delegation members said if payments are made before Eid, media workers will be able to celebrate the festival with their families.
