Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has called for joint action by Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states to ensure rule of law for a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
He was addressing 9th Ministers of Justice meeting of the SCO held virtually in Islamabad on Friday.
The Minister said adherence to the principles of supremacy of law and accountability are inevitable for sustainable economic growth.
He said Pakistan remains committed to uphold the shared objectives of SCO for promotion of cooperation in the field of law and justice.
Azam Nazeer said Pakistan is also determined to achieve the objectives of the SCO Development Strategy until 2025 including strengthening of regional and bilateral cooperation.
Mentioning Pakistan's progress in the area of forensic science activities, the Law Minister highlighted the formation of State of the Art, Punjab Forensic Science Agency and several prefabricated satellite forensic evidence collection units in the country.
He said Lahore Garrison University has started building first of its kind Digital forensic Research and Service Centre.
Azam Nazeer Tarar said this conference provides us a platform for sharing our knowledge and experiences in the field of Forensic Science for the development of our legal and justice system.
He vowed that Pakistan will continue to extend its full support and cooperation in achieving the objectives of the SCO in the field of law and Justice.
The conference was addressed by the Justice Ministers of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan.
