Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has said that the government is placing greater emphasis on value-added exports, industrial development and the removal of barriers to investment.

He was speaking to Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg von Linde, in Islamabad today.

The Minister said the two countries have considerable potential to expand their economic partnership by building on their longstanding ties to promote investment, technology transfer and business-to-business collaboration.

The Ambassador said Swedish companies in Pakistan are represented by the Swedish Business Council, where business concerns and investment opportunities are discussed regularly.

On the energy transition, she expressed Sweden's interest in supporting Pakistan's efforts toward a more sustainable energy future.
